Offered is a 1974 Topps baseball complete set of 704 cards housed inside an original factory display box. Although Topps factory-sealed sets are commonly associated with the 1980s, the first offering actually dates to 1974. The slipcase collage display box (similar to the 1974 Wax box) grades EX-MT to NM with minor edge wear. The 1974 Topps cards were the first year the entire set was issued in one series. That fall, just in time for the holidays, Topps tried a new concept in the JC Penney catalog with the first-ever “factory” set, issuing all 660 cards in one box. As a bonus, Topps also included a 44-card “Traded” set in the same box. Popular and not seen very often today, these full factory sets are highly prized by collectors. This box has never been opened and displays beautifully.
